Itinerary

1
7:00 – 8:00 AM · Pickup Pickup from Your Hotel
Early morning pickup from your hotel or accommodation in Port Blair. The drive south to Chidiya Tapu takes roughly 45–55 minutes. Morning light through the forest road is beautiful — keep an eye out for birds on the way. 📍 Hotel Pickup ~45–55 min drive to Chidiya Tapu
2
8:45 – 9:00 AM · Stop 1 Chidiya Tapu Beach
Arrive at Chidiya Tapu as it opens in the morning — the best time to visit for birdwatching, cooler air, and the beach largely to yourself. Walk the shoreline, explore the rocky outcrops and mangrove edges, and take in the raw beauty of South Andaman's coast. The Munda Pahad trek begins here too. 🐦 Best birdwatching in the morning 🌊 Cooler & quieter early on ⚠️ No Swimming — Crocodile risk
3
9:00 – 10:00 AM · Optional Munda Pahad Trek
Morning is actually the ideal time for the Munda Pahad trek — the forest is cool and shaded, wildlife is more active, and the hilltop viewpoint gives you a spectacular morning panorama of the South Andaman coastline with soft light. Trek takes approximately 45–60 minutes return. Opens at 10:00 AM — time it accordingly. ⏰ Opens 10:00 AM ⏱ ~45–60 min return 🌳 Shaded & cool in the morning Closes 4:30 PM
4
10:00 – 10:30 AM · Drive Drive to Biological Park
Leave Chidiya Tapu and head back north towards the Biological Park in Wandoor. The drive takes approximately 25–35 minutes through the forest road. ~25–35 min drive
5
10:30 AM · Stop 2 Andaman Biological Park
Visit the Biological Park — entry ticket included. Explore the endemic wildlife of the Andamans including saltwater crocodiles, Andaman wild pig, sea turtles, spotted deer, and rare birds. Set within real tropical forest, this is far more than a typical zoo. Spend about 45–60 minutes here before heading back. 🎫 Entry Ticket Included 🐊 Saltwater Crocodiles 🦜 Endemic Birds ❌ Closed on Public Holidays
6
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM · Return
Back to Your Hotel Return drive to your hotel in Port Blair. You're back before noon — the rest of the day is entirely free for lunch, rest, or any other Port Blair activities you have planned. ~30–40 min drive back ✅ Full afternoon free

Your afternoon step-by-step
The classic South Andaman route — ending with a legendary Chidiya Tapu sunset that you won't forget.
8
1:00 – 1:30 PM · Pickup Pickup from Your Hotel
Your cab arrives at your hotel or accommodation in Port Blair. The drive south begins — a scenic route through Port Blair city into the lush green interior of South Andaman. First stop is the Biological Park, approximately 25–30 minutes from the city centre. 📍 Hotel Pickup ~25–30 min drive to Bio Park
9
2:00 PM · Stop 1 Andaman Biological Park
Explore the Andaman Biological Park — a well-maintained green sanctuary home to endemic wildlife, reptiles, birds and tropical plant species unique to the Andaman Islands. A great introduction to the island's biodiversity before heading to the raw coast. Entry ticket is included in your ₹2500 package — no separate payment needed here. 🎫 Entry Ticket Included 🦜 Endemic Wildlife 🐊 Saltwater Crocodiles 🦋 Tropical Biodiversity
10
3:00 PM · Drive Drive to Chidiya Tapu
From the Biological Park, the cab heads further south to Chidiya Tapu — the southernmost tip of South Andaman, known locally as "Bird Island." The drive passes through dense forest canopy and small villages, with glimpses of the sea appearing through the trees as you approach. ~25–35 min drive Southernmost tip of Andaman
11
3:30 – 4:00 PM · Stop 2
Arrive at Chidiya Tapu — a raw, unspoilt stretch of coastline fringed by dense mangrove forest and rocky outcrops. The beach is serene, less crowded than other Andaman beaches, and the water is dramatically beautiful. Walk the shore, breathe in the salt air, and take in the surrounding jungle landscape. The Munda Pahad trek trailhead is also here. 🐦 Andaman Birdwatching 🌊 Scenic Coastline 🌿 Mangrove Edges ⚠️ No Swimming — See Below 🐊 Swimming not advised at Chidiya Tapu Chidiya Tapu is home to saltwater crocodiles in the surrounding mangroves and coastal waterways. Swimming in the sea here is strongly not recommended. The beach is beautiful to walk and explore — please enjoy it from the shore and keep a safe distance from the water's edge and mangrove areas.
12
3:30 – 4:30 PM · Optional Munda Pahad Trek
If the trek is open, this is an excellent addition to the visit. The Munda Pahad trail winds through dense tropical forest up to a viewpoint that offers a spectacular panoramic view of the southern Andaman coastline — perfect just before sunset. The trek is manageable for most fitness levels and takes approximately 45–60 minutes return. ⏱ ~45–60 min return trek 🌳 Dense Forest Trail 🔭 Panoramic Viewpoint ⏰ Open: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM 💡 Trek availability note: The Munda Pahad trek is open from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on most days. Entry closes at 4:30 PM sharp — please factor this into your timing. If arriving close to 4:30 PM, check availability at the entry point before beginning the trail. The trek may occasionally be closed for maintenance or due to wildlife activity.
13
5:15 – 5:30 PM · Highlight Sunset at Chidiya Tapu
This is why Chidiya Tapu is legendary. As the sun descends towards the Andaman Sea, the sky transforms into extraordinary layers of orange, crimson, gold and purple — reflected across the water in every direction. With the jungle silhouetted behind and not a building in sight, the Chidiya Tapu sunset is one of the most breathtaking in all of India. Find your spot on the shore, sit back, and soak it all in. 🌅 Sunset: 5:15 – 5:30 PM 📸 Exceptional Photography 🌊 Unobstructed Sea Horizon
14
Post Sunset · Return Drive Back to Port Blair
Once the sun has set and you're ready to leave, the cab takes you directly back to your hotel or a preferred drop-off point in Port Blair. The drive back is approximately 45–55 minutes through the forest road in the evening. ~45–55 min return drive Hotel drop included
