⚠️ This document checklist is standard but not exhaustive. The
Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents based on specific use

Passport
- Original passport issued within 10 years
- Valid for 6 months beyond the last intended date of departure from France
- Should contain at least 2 blank visa pages
- Should have no alteration or handwritten amendments in the data pages
Photograph
- Three recent colored passport size photographs (35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border) and taken within the last 3 months
- The facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown
- Taken against a plain white background with matt or semi-matt finish
- Please note that scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
Accommodation
- Applicant must provide one of the accommodation proof :
- Holding/Confirmed Hotel Voucher
- Cruise Confirmation Voucher
- In case staying with friend’s or relative’s place then invitation letter with invitee Id proof, passport or residence card copy along with their financial documents (email with colored scan copies will work)
Flight Ticket
- Holding/Confirmed flight reservation (India to onward and Return)
Itinerary
- Day wise itinerary which gives information about your travel plans on plain A4 size paper or else if booked through travel agent then on their letterhead
Travel Insurance
- Travel insurance is mandatory with coverage of minimum 30,000 Euros or 50,000 USD / person
- All expenses which include repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention or emergency medical treatment in hospital
- The insurance should cover the entire stay in the territory of Schengen
- Applicants applying for a period of 6 months or one-year multiple-entry visas are not entitled to provide 180/365 day coverage. Submitting an insurance policy that covers the first journey is sufficient
Proof of sufficient funds for undertaking travel
- Applicant needs to provide last 6 months bank statement signed and attested by a bank official in case the applicant is employed else need to provide bank statement of the person sponsoring your trip
- All bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week
ITR
- Income tax return assessment for the last 3 years in case the applicant is employed else need to provide income tax return of the person sponsoring your trip
Cover Letter
- A Covering letter from the Applicant on A4 Size Paper (if Employed) or else on Business Letter Head (if Self Employed)
Employment letter
- Employment letter on official company letterhead, stamped and dated; containing contact information (address, email, telephone number) as well as name, position and signature of the countersigning officer
- The letter must state the name and position of the applicant, salary, years of employment and approval of absence/position after returning
NOC
- NOC from School / Institute along with Xerox of ID card (in case of student / minor)
GST Copy
- If Self Employed then applicant need to provide a GST Copy
Leave letter
- Leave letter from the company along with a copy of Employment ID Card (if employed)
Biometric
- Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time will have to appear in person in order to provide biometric data
- Children under the age of 12 are exempted from this requirement. Visa2fly will book a convenient appointment for bio-metric data and visa application submission, at the appointed visa application center
- Previously submitted biometric data (after 2nd November 2015) is valid for travel to any Schengen country for 59 months from the date of submission
- In some unique situations, some member country may ask for re-submission of biometric data if they deem necessary

- If multiple countries in a Schengen area is to be visited then France must be the country with the maximum duration of stay or if all the stays at the Schengen countries are same, then it must be the first country at the port of entry in the Schengen area
- Each applicant must have all the mandatory documents as mentioned in requirement tabs above

As per the standard rule set by the Schengen authorities, Biometrics is valid for 59 months and for all the Schengen countries. You can easily identify the VIS (Visa Information System) remark on your visa issued after your first biometrics.
However, few countries will require the applicant to get the Biometrics everytime they apply irrespective of the validity or if there is some error in Biometrics details captured in the VIS. So, it is suggested to connect with our E-Visa Application team before you apply for your visa.

As of November 2, 2015, every applicant requesting a Schengen visa has to submit the biometrics (finger print, palm print, live photo, etc.) in person. It can either be to the assigned VFC (Visa Facilitation Center), or for some countries the assigned consulate or embassy.
No, the bank statement must be for the last 6 months, stamped and signed on every single page by the bank. Please note that the statement must be on A4 size paper only.
A Schengen Visa (issued by a consulate or embassy of a Schengen State) is valid for all 26 States of the Schengen Area comprising- Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Although the ITR for the last three years is preferred, you can provide the ITR for the last 2 years, if otherwise.
You can apply for a France Visa 6 months before you travel but not later than 15 days.
In case you hold an active visa for France on the old passport, it is mandated to email your concern directly to the France Embassy. In turn, you can use the old passport till the expiry of that particular visa if the embassy validates it with a reply to your mail.
For all the 26 Schengen countries, travel insurance is mandatory. You can apply for travel insurance online right away.
